Hi Folks,

Thought of creating a thread where it consolidates all the possible food options if we are dining out. This will hopefully a quick reference guide to all the bros here.

(1) Roast Pork
(2) Steam chicken
(3) Kway Chap (without the kway teow)
(4) Steak (if western stall, ask to change the fries to something else)
(5) Eggs (no restriction on number of eggs to be consumed!)
(6) Yong tau foo (no rice/noodles)
(7) Beef soup, pork innards soup, bak kut teh etc
(Cool Poached salmon from Ikea (no sauce)

anymore?

edited to take into comments by fellow bros

I think you'd have to remove the Yong Tau Foo and Kway chap, being that both use BEANS in their preparation. Soya Sauce and TOU FOO.

Beef soup, pork innards soup, bak kut teh etc are also okay Smile

Yup, these days, I rather go home and cook our own meal...

I can control what goes into our meal Laughing

Okay, it may not be as tasty as outside food cos I don't use MSG and the heavy sauces Laughing

But I am not complaining...hahah

Donna leh X, for me , home cooked still best, and I love to use my tom bolt to pound my rampa.
My friend who's wife is Cantonese. Real bitch, tried to compete with me on Peranakan cooking, say this and that, kana fuck in the face when I told her, what the shit you know, I've been pounding spices sine I was 6 yeas old and that isn't a lie, the way I pound rampa and cook, you can't even hole a candle to me, so don't come and talk rubbish to me and also ask me stupid questions if I really cooked this dish, yes, it's so delicious, it leaves doubts in your mind if I cooked it. Hahahahahahahaha! Shut up straight away. Very Happy

Aiyah, will always have these "know it all" sort of people...I call them paper generals - just because they thought they read a book, watched a food channel program, they are "experts"...just like our SAF generals...pui Mad

Anyway, recently went for a short stay at Club Med and everyone was amazed that I only picked at the food at the massive buffets - meat dishes without sauce, cheeses, eggs and butter Laughing

I got to know the chef at the egg station on a first name basis...hahah

Everyone else? They were helping themselves to the sh!tload of carbs like bread, cakes and desserts...

Went to the one at Bintan...

Our first time also...hahah

Nothing special to be honest - just that all the meals and drinks are included in the package

So for me who's now very selective on what I eat plus don't drink alcohol, I felt it was not worth the premium that we have to pay...

Plus most of the time, I am lazing or swimming at the pool side - the sea was too choppy (monsoon) to swim and can't even kayak...sian

Having said that, we may go to the one in Hokkaido during winter - hopefully my knee has recovered enough to go skiing again Laughing

My coming trip will be to Taiwan/Japan. Annual Pilgrimage. Last time, before all the newer trains, highways etc..
God, Taiwan alone, we'd be spending 4hrs plane, 5hrs train, 1hr walking. Japan was no better, 6hrs plane, 5hrs train,
3hrs walk. Damn, you really got to be DAMN fit to do all that, I tell you, not how lianing. Specially Japan, where some of my wife's relatives
live far in, and it's a 3-4hr hike UPHILL.

That's why I admire my wife, she can take most of the shit I dish out to her.
of course I carry all the load, and sometimes her as well. (She tired, never say, I carry her on my back with
the backpacks as well.)

Go to Cartel and have the St Louis Ribs if you are anywhere an outlet nearby. I normally go for that if i have to eat outside but i'll leave the coleslaw and fries alone of course, i sometimes order two sets of it lol. If you worry about the sauce which of course have carbo and sugar, maybe you can request without it, or leave it at a side Very Happy
