it's really all a conspiracy...
this is conjecture. in my little little mind...
it's not that mainstream is not getting and understanding the truth. I think if everyone on this planet dropped their cheap affordable macro-nutrient now, and replace it with the correct stuff and lifestyle, everything will explode.
it might be highly likely that this is being suppressed. just imagine the economic impact, inflation, etc etc...
your thoughts?
nb: if you never hear from me again... well...

I'm trying very hard now to convert my wife's cousin, who is like 60+, she does soya products, and has diabetes, to eat a high fat diet. She has a wound that would not heal per say, but the final decision is up to her to make. If all the above happen, we'd have people not dieing of cancer, etc... Err..I don't think I wanna think about it, but we'd be land scarce!
Re: it's really all a conspiracy...
Of course it's a conspiracy!
If we as normal people with normal levels of intelligence can understand concepts of basic human metabolism and biochemistry when we simply pay attention, do you think the leading scientists in the world don't?
It's all about money.
People with a lot of money manipulating information to feed to other people who do not have an incentive to scrutinize the science (most people, including doctors who are trained to treat symptoms with drugs).
For example, cholesterol lowering drugs are a US$29 BILLION PER YEAR industry. If you were the CEO of a company who makes them, you would jolly well make sure they keep selling. If people found out the truth, the consequences would be pretty dire for the company.
Even if they take US$9 BILLION out of the US$29 BILLION to ensure that the "correct" info is being perpetuated, there is still US$20 BILLION left in the bank. US$9 BILLION per year can do many many things.

Re: it's really all a conspiracy...
the flip side like MO said, and I think, is that we can't do paleo for everyone, good intentions aside.
the world will collapse, economies, etc. not enough meat (prices sky rocket), millions of people go bust from the grain industry, ripple effects....
for Singapore, wow, just imagine what happens... but I guess only if everyone switches at the same time.... but the correction and its aftershocks even if done gradually, hmmm, I think earth will be just one big abattoir...

Narr...you probably end up doing the cows then killing them for meat.
I personally killed chickens, goose, ducks, pigeons, goats, deer, sheeps,
Monkey, monitor lizards, fish no need say, wild bores, cows, only once, and it
Was something I don't intend to do again. Rest I can live with. Fast and swift.
Re: it's really all a conspiracy...
ok, maybe a tropical beach side farm, only goats, chicken, some pigs, and lots of coconut trees....
i doubt i can stomach culling, have to sub-out... or get used to it.

When you're really hungry, you'll kill to survive. I ate bugs, as well.
Looks ugly, but some taste really awesome.
Re: it's really all a conspiracy...
Well, I grew up on a farm. My grand father and father were pig/chicken/duck farmers. Yup, killing pigs are a much more messy and difficult affair.
Maybe that's why I have no issues with eating parts of animals that people think are grotesque. Brains, balls, penis, spleen, intestines, liver...I'll eat them all.
But the more interesting memories include my father catching a huge pyhton that was eating our chickens, killing it, then my mom cooking it. Yum! Same with a monitor lizard. Quite tasty with Chinese herbs.

Fresh, just look at the number of items in a supermkt that we dont buy and u know the answer already.
btw i went for a recent check up and the doc recommended higher dosage for BP pills (was on Norvasc) when i tested 144 94 (actually i stopped meds since starting on diet after CNY). she even blamed it on insufficient dosage. the docs are not recommending recovery at all, only arresting deterioration by increasing meds - how to NOT MAKE MONEY CBS???

Yap, tried coverting a few frens and got screwed. They even suggest talking to doctors and dietricians to debunk the "myth" I am spreading.
Nobody listens cos they think they know a lot and our suggestion is too stupid to even consider. The collective wisdom preached by doctors and dietricians in this "conspiracy of stupidty" is not helping.

Re: it's really all a conspiracy...
more conspiracy? papers from ST today show you how to buy more medication. and u were wondering why we are so drugged out?
Two-drug obesity treatment effective: Study
PARIS - A NEW treatment for obesity that combines two existing drugs resulted in twice as much weight loss as the only approved long-term anti-obesity medication, according to a study released on Monday.
A mix of Phentermine and topiramate, sold under the brand name of Topamax, was shown in clinical trials to be twice as effective as orlistat, which is commercialised in some countries as Xenical or Alli, it said.
The drug combo appears to have additional health benefits, including improved 'markers,' or indicators, for blood pressure, sugar levels, lipids and inflammation, it added. Phentermine is the most widely prescribed short-term weight drug in the United States.
Topiramate is an anticonvulsant approved for treating seizure disorders and migraines. It has been shown to work well for weight loss in obese patients with type 2 diabetes, but - taken alone - has also been linked to cognitive and psychiatric side effects.
Lower doses taken with a controlled-release mechanism and in combination with other drugs would likely reduce those side effects, tests have shown.
Led by Kishore Cadde of the Duke University Medical Centre, in Durham, North Carolina, the new trial was conducted over 20 months with nearly 2,500 overweight or obese adults with at least two major health-risk symptoms. -- AFP

Re: it's really all a conspiracy...
I stopped meds a long time ago, when I started eating this way. Even how hard I trained before, my BP just wouldn't go down,
even if I was claim as hell, it would still be "high" till now. Fuck if I'm going to go back to meds. Supplementation, meds have fucked up my life and health before, hell if I'm going to let it happen again.
And for you guys to take note, when I was on carbs, complex of simple or what, I had really huge mood swings, like a "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"
and I'm very serious when I say this. In a matter of say 30-45mins after eating, the slightest shit, will spark me into a fiery. Now....fuck if anything is going to move me.

Re: it's really all a conspiracy...
actually, depending on how we approach it with our friends/acquaintances, the push back is manageable. so far, all the ladies are very interested in it.
I don't talk too much about it, except:
1. insulin => no carbs, no sugar
2. no processed foods
3. eat more of other stuff in replacement of (1).

If you ask me, I'd say don't bother, honest, it's just a waste of time and spit. They will NEVER follow thru,
and when they give up after seeing results and get fat again, they'll just blame it on YOU. Help yourself first...

Re: it's really all a conspiracy...
CBS, i have cut grains and sugar for about 95% of past 2 months, save the odd cheat day or family meal. the exercise ... not yet!
for the rest of office pp, i just declare my diet, in case someone thinks why i am so ngeow, cannot eat this or that. once u show the results and they can see with own eyes, then its really up to them. so i have to agree with MO somewhat on this. most ppp talk and talk, but we are the ones, trying, struggling at times and actually doing it, even in the face of conventional wisdom - this is even harder.

Not really difficult lah, mind over matter, your body don't mind, then it won't matter lor.
I never declare anything to anyone, I have been choosy in my foods anyway, so no difference.
Now one meal a day, people can't even believe it, so who cares what others think, matters cost is, you fell and look great.
Re: it's really all a conspiracy...
I'm only telling people who want to hear about it, in the spirit of 'Paying it forward'. Just like CBS, MO, and all the other bros who take the extra effort to share, I'll just let these people know there is such a thing, show them the resources, and the rest is up to them.

Like my friend for example, his wife disagrees with this diet, and he cannot go full paleo when she's around. She works in Houston Texas most of the year and comes back to Singapore 2 times a year. The funny thing is, I don't have to ask when his wife is back in Singapore, because every time she's back, he puts on lots of weight. When she's gone, he looks like a male model.
No matter how much he ups his exercise when she's here, he can never out exercise the "healthy complex carbs" that his wife insists he eats. Not forgetting he is also forbidden to eat all the "bad saturated animal fats".
Despite seeing the physical changes in her husband, she still insists that eating sugar is ok in moderation and the bulk of his diet should be whole grains.
Of course, she doesn't like me ever since I got her husband to eat like me.
My poor friend. He wants to be healthy and lean, and he knows how to, but cannot do so cos his partner disapproves.

MO, i love the part where i don't go starving mad at 11am or 5pm anymore - its hard to believe u can actually feel this way! as if u have a big tank and knows u need a refill, but u dont dry up so fast.
Fresh, agreed. i share some of the concepts, only as an effort for pp to open up their minds and inf out more, if they really want to.
CBS, good story to share the mindset that make take at least 1 generation to change.
I just came back from NTUC - they are now promoting a new "air fryer" which cooks without needing so much oil (ie unhealthy) - go check it out, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nCDnDj2rP4
so how do u fight a giant like Philips?
